This competition will run on Wednesdays after the League finishes.

Pairs in any combination, all male, all female or mixed

Rules of play

 

1. Matches are to be played over 18 ends. In the event of a tie after 18 ends, an extra end shall be played.  Skips will toss for the mat.

 

2. Two trial ends are allowed and each player can decide for themselves how many bowls they would like (max 4 each end).

 

3. Players are not allowed to stay in the head and must return to the mat on changeover. Players are not allowed to visit the head.

 

4. Format of play. Bowls to be played in the 2/4/2 format.

        

           On the first end players A of each side send two bowls each alternatively.  All

           four players then crossover and players B of each side send 4 bowls

           alternatively.  All four players crossover again and players A send their last 2

           bowls alternatively.  When all players have delivered their bowls, shots are

           decided as normal.

 

           On the second end the same procedure is followed but player B sends the

           jack and bowls 2 of their bowls.  Players crossover and players A send 4

           bowls.  Players crossover and players B send their remaining 2 bowls

           Alternatively.

 

5. Dead ends to be replayed.

 

6. Late arrivals. If the player/s are more than 15 minutes late or advises they cannot play, the game will be awarded to their opponents.

 

7. Score cards are to be signed and timed by all players and handed back to the marker/competition secretary for verification.

 

8. Postponement due to weather conditions and any subsequent changes  to playing times will be the decision of the Competition  Secretary or the Captain
